On October 12-13, 2018, the Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE), in collaboration with the ANBIIG Association and Can Tho City General Hospital, organized the ANBIIG training course on the application of NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) technology in digestive endoscopy. The training was honored by the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Director of Can Tho City General Hospital; Dr. Ho Dang Quy Dung, President of the Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy; two international speakers; and nearly 60 gastroenterologists from hospitals across the country.

After the opening speech, representatives of Can Tho General Hospital and VFDE also presented flowers and commemorative medals to express their deep gratitude to the medical equipment companies that accompanied and sponsored this training course, including Olympus Vietnam Co., Ltd., Anh Khoa Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. and Johnson & Johnson (Vietnam).

On the first day of the training course, Dr. Mohan Ramchandani and Dr. Daisuke Kikuchi delivered presentations on the principles and development of NBI (Narrow Band Imaging) technology, and the diagnosis and classification of early cancer lesions in the esophagus and stomach using NBI.

Following the presentations, there was a discussion session where participants and international speakers shared experiences related to the application of NBI technology in classifying and diagnosing early gastrointestinal cancer lesions.

In the afternoon of the first day, a practical demonstration was conducted by the two international speakers with the support of the medical and nursing team at Can Tho City General Hospital.

On the second day of the training course, Dr. Mohan Ramchandani presented on topics related to endoscopic treatment of early gastrointestinal cancer and early colorectal cancer lesions. Following the presentation, participants were divided into two groups and practiced on models with the assistance of the two international speakers.

At the end of the training course, ANBIIG Association and representatives of Can Tho General Hospital presented certificates and took souvenir photos with the participants. VFDE hopes that this training course has provided an opportunity for domestic endoscopists to exchange, learn, and accumulate knowledge and experience.
